Dallas Hoops Fancast – Season 3, Episode 9
That. Was. Close. The Dallas Mavericks barely scraped by the Orlando Magic at home on Wednesday night. Luka Doncic‘s huge 3rd quarter was a big part of that. A 1-point win against one of the worst teams in the league doesn’t look impressive, but a win is a win.
A big game from Luka Doncic and J.J. Barea helped the Mavs secure an ugly victory. The Magic scored 100 points for the first time all season, showing that the Mavericks have a lot to work on with their defense.
The Magic, on the other hand, played a good defensive game. Jonathan Isaac had an insane stat-line of 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 6 blocks. The Magic held the Mavericks to less than 43% shooting. Their length and size was a part of that.
Aside from Doncic, the Mavericks’ other star, Kristaps Porzingis, struggled to get involved offensively. In this episode, we talk about what could be causing that and what the Mavericks and Head Coach Rick Carlisle can do to fix it.
